The Invisalign Assessment Process
Examination & Health History
Your dentist will begin by reviewing your relevant medical and dental history and records.
Your dentist will also perform an oral examination to identify any issues that may not have been apparent in your dental records, including:
- Physical assessment of your teeth and gums
- Dental impressions
- Digital x-rays
Treatment Plan & Scheduling
Based on your health history and oral exam, your dentist will determine if Invisalign is right for you, and present you with a preliminary treatment plan.
If you choose Invisalign, your dentist will discuss the details of your treatment plan and answer any questions you may have.
Your dentist will also send your dental impressions to Align Technologies so that they can begin to create your clear, custom aligners.
You should be able to schedule your first treatment appointment directly after your assessment to get your treatment underway!
